Big Thompson Canon is the eastern passageway to the Rocky Mountain National Park from Loveland and Northern Colorado. For nearly 35 miles the road follows the turns of the dashing Thompson River, passing thru every variety of magnificent mountain scenery. Then the canon suddenly emerges into the great bowl of Estes Park rimmed in with snow capped mountains.
